Pet Diagnostics

In order to give your pet the best possible vet treatment, we offer the most recent technologies.

Looking closer with pet diagnostics

Sometimes, a physical examination is not enough to diagnose medical conditions in your pet. We continually strive to provide the best treatment for our patients in Noblesville and surrounding areas. Pet diagnostics help us do just that. During wellness examinations, dental examinations, and before any surgery, we’ll likely utilize our digital radiography and in-house laboratory testing.

State-of-the-Art Digital Radiography

Digital radiography, or digital X-rays, is a valuable diagnostic tool we use in many ways in our practice. They give us an instantaneous look into your pet’s body. We’re able to examine their skeletal system but also examine the size and shape of their internal organs. We can diagnose many medical conditions this way, including:

  • Bone fractures
  • Foreign bodies
  • Liver, kidney, and heart disease
  • Intestinal blockage
  • Bladder stones
  • Chronic arthritis
  • Certain tumors

In-House Laboratory Testing

Our in-house laboratory is also a valuable diagnostic tool that helps us in many ways at Noble West Animal Hospital. By checking bloodwork, skin scrapings, and cultures in-house, we’re able to give owners faster answers to what may be ailing their pets. Pets can be very good at hiding discomfort or pain because it is a part of their survival instincts. Conditions our in-house laboratory is good at alerting us to include:

  • Heartworm disease
  • Lyme disease
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Intestinal parasites
  • Feline leukemia

Screenings for Year-Round Health

Regular blood screening during annual or biannual wellness exams can alert us to medical conditions and create a baseline of health in your loyal companion. Senior pets need more frequent health screenings, and our laboratory can check for underlying issues like diabetes. It also helps us determine whether your pet’s liver and kidneys are functioning properly. We require bloodwork before all our dental procedures and surgery to help monitor your pet under anesthesia. We make pet care accessible and easy at Noble West Animal Hospital. Please contact us today for more information about pet diagnostics or any of our other services.
